Asics Piranna(sp?)

Anybody checked out the new asics pirannahs or however you spell it? I just saw them the other day, I guess its the lightest flat asics has ever released in the USA, I used to have a few pairs that were from japan and they were really cool, but they wore out many moons ago. It seems like asics is bringing in some of the japanese shoes like the hyperspeeds and the new pirahahasha. if anybody has them, let me know how they are, I WANT EM BAD!!!

ok i just emailed the link to my buddy, he works for Asics. he called me and explained all the details to me and he said they are lighter and actually have a mid-sole padding. i better wait for him to post before i get all the info wrong on this.

They are racing flats that have been in the ASICS Japan line for a few years. When I worked there, we always wanted to bring them in but the retail price never made sense because we would’ve had a tough time meeting minimums. I have seen the Japanese version and they’re incredible. I think ChadJ has a pair, maybe he’ll respond with some insight.

ASICS Pirahna

I couldn’t see the DS Racer, please do not tell me it is discontinued. Is there a new version coming or are you guys releasing a new stability racer?

Well. I’m not part of ‘you guys’ anymore, so I was as surprised as anyone to see the DS-Racer discontinued. I would probably give the new Hyperspeed 2 a try before abandoning ship.

So I take it you Know Arne and you Obviously know ChadJ from JOR.

Both are very good friends…

I just raced them in them at the SD Int’l Triathlon. They are very lightweight and I believe they weigh about 4.6-4.8 ounces. They fit like a slipper but I do not think they will last very long. I am going to be using them at Vineman next weekend, don’t know if they will work for me for IM distance.
There is not much support in these shoes so good foot/ankle mechanics and running form would be recommended with these shoes.

I have the hyper-speed II but have not tried them yet. Little bit more support in these.

What’s up Art? Going to Vineman?

yes, Sir one wave after you, That means Last Wave for me!!!

Hopefully It will not be blazing hot by the time I run.

That’s so heavy…compared to the new Mizuno Wave Universe @ 3.7 ounces.
