The sculptor Troy Landwehr apparently is working on a cheddar version of Mt. Rushmore and by the looks of it it would seem that he has been eating whatever is carved away.

PS: I have an acquaintance who carves butter sculptures at huge events. She didn’t start out doing this - she was a traditional --and amazing-- sculptor of mostly busts, figures, etc. Some of her stuff are in big city parks. But somehow she started in butter sculptures and now is famous for them. I think they are pretty cool - and I love seeing other artists work. Except for this guy. You are right - I think he does eat the excess after he carves it off.

As most artists do, he’s exercising artist license and projecting a bit of himself into. Hitchcock did this all the time.
