So here are the top-five times from the 13km checkpoint:
1- ULLRICH (G), Bianchi 16:26
2- ARMSTRONG (USA) U.S. Postal 16:26
3- MILLAR (GB) Cofidis 16:45 at 0:19
4- VINOKOUROV (KAZ) Telekom 16:45 at 0:19
5- ZUBELDIA (SP) Euskaltel 16:52 at 0:26
**4:42 p.m. **Ullrich is flying down the road. He’s caught his two-minute man, Ivan Basso, and now he’s caught Roberto Heras, his four-minute man.
4:44 p.m. Millar has hit the finish line with a 1:02:27, second behind Peschel’s still-best time… but the big guns are all out on the road.
**4:46 p.m. **Zubeldia has crossed the 33km mark with a 42:20, seven seconds better than that turned in by Peschel and Millar.
**4:48 p.m. **Ullrich crosses the check at 33km in 40:27, almost TWO minutes better than Zubeldia’s time!
uh, oh … Lance better get going!
Armstrong comes through with a 41:08… he’s 41 seconds off of Ullrich’s time.
Here are the top five at 33km
1- ULLRICH 40:28
2- ARMSTRONG 41:08 at 0:40
3- VINOKOUROV 41:30 at 01:02
4- HAMILTON 42:16 at 01:48
5- ZUBELDIA 42:20 at 01:52
Ullrich takes it according to my bloomberg
.
no doubt in my mind that Ullrich is probably the fastest TT’s ist in the world along with Dave Millar and Lance, and if he goes to worlds this year he will probably have a good chance of winning the TT.
