…but let’s create some fear mongering, because there isn’t enough on the IMAZ 2014 Facebook Group. OMG, they are going to cancel the swim from all the algae!
Oh, and also about how it’s gonna be SO cold that you’re going to FOR SURE need a neoprene cap and booties for 70 degree water.
Oh, and there will be wind gusts of 50MPH on the Beeline so make sure you don’t use anything deeper than a 40mm race wheel.

That article was from before the tempe tri. I races it. It was all good. A little brush floating around from recent storms. But I didn’t get sick.
Beyond cold this morning. Upper 40s for morning ride. Leg warmers, jacket, hat and full gloves. Racers will be lucky to feel their toes coming out of the water and then jumping on a bike in near freezing temps. Good luck…

This sounds warmer than expected. Does this forecast look like it will bring temp any lower or higher? Not sure how responses to daytime temps this lake is.
The coldest time of day is 7a. Lake will be at its coldest then, 65-68 degrees would be my guess. You will hit cold and warm pockets along the way.

James, it will be far warmer than any other year I have done it. This will be my 4th time doing it.

Still too far out to be reliable, but the higher the winds the better IMO.
