Arione or Arione TT?

Group,

I had an Arione on my old bike that I used with a DeSoto saddle cover. It was comfortable in aero positiuon at any distance.

I just have not felt quite as good downstairs on the Sella Italia SLR T1. I think the nose is a bit thinker and a bit harder.

So, has anyone used both the Arione and the Arione TT? What are the thoughts between the two? Many thanks,

Hi David,

I’ve ridden my road bike with the “ordinary” Arione for 1½ years, and I have nothing bad to say about it. It works great for me. When I bought my time trial bike I bought the Arione Tri, hoping the softer nose would help me to get more comfortable in the more extreme time trial position. It’s a good saddle, but I’m not as happy with it as I am with my road bike saddle. I can’t point to exactly what it is that makes the ordinary Arione more comfortable for me, but I think it has to do with the Tri saddle’s more cushioned and softer nose that doesn’t work for me.

I got the Arione for my road bike last year and I love it. Made me switch to the Arione Tri for my Tri bike. I thought about getting another Arione and putting my DeSoto cover on it, but I thought the two seams in front might bug me. At this point, I would go either way, if you like the cover on the Arione, stick with it, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

If you have the two color editions do you notice any problems with what appears to be seams on top of the saddle? On the limited edition models (White/silver, black/red, etc) there looks like there are seams that run along the middle top of the saddle. These look like they could be an irritant.
