Argon E112 fork

Got a problem. Found a crack on my 2011 model fork. Contacted Argon and heard back from a distributor. They took info and asked for pics. Good news is that it is covered under warranty… bad news is that I was told I can’t get a '11 fork. I could pick a '12 or newer fork or I could purchase a new frameset minus cost of fork. So now I won’t have a matching bike (but back to riding condition again). Tried contacting Argon again but haven’t heard back.
I would like to have a matching '11fork but sounds like it will not happen. I can’t afford to buy another frameset as I purchased this one new 2 years ago. I looked on Ebay to see if there are any forks but no real luck. Any ideas?

Get the warranty replacement free and have it painted to match your frame.

I didn’t think of that and look nice but then that would probably void the warranty on the replacement right?

It might void the warranty on the replacement … check with Argon.

It however, might not depending on what they do to the fork for painting. Also, some parts are only covered from the time of purchase … so your replacement may not be covered much longer, so it wouldn’t matter in the end.

Must of been a bad year for Argon’s fork department.

I’ve just had to send a 2011 E-116 Fork back, thank fully they could replace this one though.

You would of thought that as they (I think) run a 3 year warranty and could not honor this they would let you have a frame set at a REAL discounted rate, rather than just knocking off the cost of the fork !

Yes. I’m really bummed as this frame doesn’t have many miles (I missed most of '12). The more I think about it, the more I’m stuck. The bike won’t match so it will be mine when I want to upgrade. I would have jumped on the new frameset if I got a better offer. I tried contacting Argon directly haven’t heard a response yet. I like the ride and was thinking of upgrading to a 116 or 118 in another 3 years but now I’m not sure.

Yeah, I’m losing a lot of faith in Argon even though I got mine replaced without issue.

Sounds a strange statement I know, but the fact that I done zero research in to warranties before purchase is my own fault, Apparently they will honor 3 years, now I know Carbon has limited life, but most; in a very general term, TT bikes carry low mileage due to being more race bikes than trainers you would think that a little bit more would be on offer.

I also had issues, well not “issues” as such like non functioning, more of a design criticism with the seat clamp design and questioned Argon and got fobbed off and now have discovered a small/slight crack behind the seat post, that in its self I’m not bothered about as its not majorly structural and I can sort it as I have had it in my mind for a while that it would fail, but I’m sure as eggs is eggs if I raised it with Argon I’d get the not been maintain by a recognised authorized dealer or the over tightened, tough luck response. (I could be well wrong there but can’t be bothered to find out)
(In respoonce to that I’d say about it being torqued to their ORINGINAL setting and give them info on my SRAM GXP experience)

But anyway (I’ve had a drink or two so I’m babbling   sorry) I bought mine because I like the look of it and I intend to ride it into the ground as I still like the look of it I may even switch it to a road set up yet, probably non ST approved, but hey  but would I buy another, hell no, another Argon, only if they change the warranty.

If I was in your position I’d pay for a GOOD spray job on the replacement fork and just keep the thing until its really had better days.

Or claim of your house insurance maybe ?

Well that is a bit disheartening. I will send them another email and hopefully hear a response. The bikeshop was not local, actually 6 hours away. I too purchased because I liked the look of the bike and it is very comfortable to ride. I will probably end up doing as you said, keep the fork as is and ride it into the ground. Tough lesson learned I guess.

Yeah lesson lernt in not finding out about warrentys…

Still love the Bike though
