Argon 18 Element 114

Finally some real competition for the Cervelo P3C! personally I think that this thing looks sick fast and rumor has it that it is also going to be very light, lighter then anything else out there. This thing could seriously be built around 15lbs with a Zipp disk on the rear.

Maybe, but the chain is not in the big ring??!?!??!?!???!?!

what bars are those?

The bars are custom Argon 18 ones for the Element 114 co-designed with ITM
.

$$$?

at first glance it looks very BMC-like, lots of similar design elements

(excuse the pun)
.

again, you have take it to the wind tunnel to be absolutely sure, but i see some problems with the seat stays. flowing air hates sharp edges …

Trust me with almost 4 years of development time on it this thing spent more then enough time in the wind tunnel.

are/were you involved in the work on it ?

any idea how the sharp edges on the stays improve aerodynamics ?

I’ve seen something similar somewhere…

great.

but for an employee of Argon, you paid quite a compliment to cervelo in your first post.

so while you are talking to the engineers, could you also ask the dimension in mm of the widest part of the downtube? how about the width of the seatpost shaft? and how about the lateral width of top tube? and what is the shape/profile of the downtube? and did argon verify that there is an aero benefit to having a section of the fork run in front of the head tube? if yes, what is the magnitude of this benefit? could you also ask what is frame’s seat tube angle? is the frame made in north america or asia? how about the fork?

thanks.

I agree, that’s one fast looking bike.

Your right I did and I believe in calling a spade a spade while I think the P3C has some issues (handling) it is still a well thought out bike that gets a lot of things right. I will do my best to get the answers to your questions GregX

Bike is made in Asia like 99% of the stuff out there these days including the Cervelo. They have the manufacturing expertise so it only makes sense to have production there. The bikes are designed in Canada.

How is this bike different from the one that they showed last year at Interbike?

And why the delay - over 1 year- in getting this bike to athletes?

getting the bike cleared by the UCI and continued athlete testing/tweaking
.

…and what “issue” would this be?

Is it just me or is every new bike just morphing into the same bike?

Argon, Cervelo, Guru - all good Canadian bike companies.

Wish the rest of our industries were this innovative.

What are you talking about???
