Are tofu clinchers included in this tire bashing?

It seems to be a TPI problem with Tofu which I would think carries over to their clinchers. Is this true?

Dude,

I use both tires, tubies on my race wheels and tufo clinchers on my training wheels, never had a problem with either in a years time, meaning NO FLATS.

Great tires.

.

It’s not a TPI problem. The Elite Jet’s which are 440 TPI, one of the highest in the biz, got panned as well by the German review.

It may be that when Tufo vulcanizes the butyl onto the interior of the tire (hence the reason Tufo’s are technically “tubeless,” unlike a traditional tubular, which is a casing sewn up around a traditional inner tube), they change the way the tire deflects and therefore the RR increases.

They also don’t use natural rubber, which may also be factor. These are all just theories. That being said, they are great training tires where speed isn’t an issue, since they are GREAT about not going flat…

I have never tried a tire made of Tofu, but I bet it would be a little squishy. Probably works best in a stirfry.

I love my clinchers. In my opinion, they are faster than any other clincher I have tried. They make me feel faster, I ride more comfortably and I don’t worry about blow-outs.
Personal preference.
