I walked 2.5 mi to warm up; ran 12 with 2 x 15 min @ threshold pace, then got in the pool. Unfortunately I only had one gel - would’ve liked at least one more for something that long. Anyway, 3k for me to start the month. I will make a goal of 4-5 swims a week :stuck_out_tongue:

500 w/u

3 x 50 on :50
3 x 100 on 1:30
3 x 150 on 2:15
3 x 100 on 1:30
3 x 50 on :50
6 x 150 on 2:15

250 c/d

Can someone help me - when I write “3000” in April 1 it automatically turns it into “March 18.”

Axles of Evil are you playing an April Fool’s joke on me?!

could be that the cell on the spreadsheet is set for a date rather than a number - if you right click on the cell and select format cell, you should be able to see if that’s the problem.

Holy crap; you walked 2.5 miles to warm up?

I ran a 20 mi race on Sunday and my legs were still feeling tight from it. I did NOT expect to be able to run that threshold workout today… I didn’t expect to be able to run at all. I walked thinking that’s all I’d do, but my legs felt so light and loose after that I started running and lo and behold there’s 7:03 pace, threshold, ZING.

I don’t usually walk to warm up at all. I run slowly :stuck_out_tongue:

ran 8.5 mi easy
swam 6000 yds

800 w/u
8 x 25 build
4 x 25 half-sprint
8 x 25 easy/fast
12 x 125 on 2:00 evens FAST (hard set!)
8 x 25 easy
5 x 200 kick 1 and 5, pull desc 2,3,4
3 x 300 desc
100 kick
12 x 50 on :50 every 3rd fast
400 c/d alt breast/free
.

Just signed up for my first go at this. My goal for April is my total meters since January, 08! A whopping 24,000. ha. I do passionately dislike swimming but have been busy swapping leg injuries so figured it was time to work on shoulder injuries.

I managed to do a couple of almost actual sets in my 2nd workout.

4 x 100 m on 2:00 1:27 ave
6 x 50 m on 1:00 :42 ave

900 m floating back and forth

1600 m total

I could feel some hope in the stroke . . . but the lungs might take a few weeks.

Oh, good. Someone for TC to swap ailment stories with…

What I need is 1% of her enthusiasm for going to the pool. As soon as it becomes a choice between the ease of running out the door or driving 20 min to the pool and, yuck, getting into the water, it gets tough.

Take the monopoly approach.

" go directly to pool
do not pass home, do not collect afterwork beers."

Cut it out. I have been healthy and injury free for several months now. The lack of swimming on my part over the past couple months was weather, running, other lame excuses.

Ok I know you are a math geek, but how do you keep track of all of that. I can barely focus enough to count my laps

22 years of swimming and just plain being used to it. We write workouts on index cards, put them in a little baggie, and then have that to go by - but I can always remember them after (memory of pain

Can’t keep running splits in my head to save my life though unless I am doing an interval workout, like the miles. Ask me to just track splits for an easy 8 mi run I get woefully confused.

Did ya swim today?
