Depends on what you want to do. I load Garmin data into it. Great maps and satellite overlays, ability to “play back” workouts, and summary of weeks, months, and years is better than Training Peaks for quick overviews.
Does not track watts, and is limited in output options if sending data to coaches. But does allow single exports which make it a great interface for Training Peaks. The Mac interface for TP is less than stellar, so any GPS data goes to Ascent first. A couple quirks if you’re manually entering (non-GPS) workouts.
Good program for GPS applications, updates on a regular basis, growing forum of users.
It will accept TCX files from just about any GPS app / meter. It will also accept HRM files from the 625x.
We’re working on direct download of these devices. The big problem is that Polar does not currently write drivers on the Mac side that are totally USB compliant.
iSmart is a nice option and is written by my friend Stuart Tevendale. It doesn’t do the predictive stuff that RaceDay does, but it is a pretty excellent logbook and will work with the previous generation of HRM’s as well.
Won’t work, unfortunately. The problem is in the USB drivers from Polar. They are not 100% compliant with USB standards. If I am not mistaken, Stuart is working on this.
I am deciding between ISMartTrain and RaceDay. What I really want is a summary feature by day, week, month, and year. I’d also like to manually input data as well. Does raceday handle both of these?
I’m not currently using a power meter and want, more than anything, a management software with summary,.
