I know there’s an option a Foundation that cost $5K or Endurance Sports Travel.
Actually, I’m looking for other alternatives. In the past, Chris Carmichael used to offer 6 months training + Registration. Also www.multisports.com used to offer.
Is there anyone that offer something similar ??
tks
For this year (2014)?

Yes…you can get a 2014 slot through Race Quest (I have zero affiliation). http://race-quest.sqsp.com/ironman-florida/ Looks like they are some kind of cross between the package Multisport used to offer and EST.
Yes - 2014
.
Both of the races you mention have charity spot entry currently showing on the Ironman website.
Yeah, I know. But it’s a charity of $5.000, it’s out of my budget.
I’m looking for other alternatives ($$).
I believe Training Bible Coaches mentioned on the podcast this week that they had IMAZ training camp / race registration still available.
I just registered through Endurance Sports Travel for IMFL. Best of all available options, IMO.
Chances for Children Arizona has several spots open for IMAZ 2014 with a minimum fundraising goal of $2500. If you’re looking to get into IMAZ, this route helps a great cause and is very reasonable for the athlete as well. Send me a message if you are interested or have any questions. Thanks!

What did they charge? Thinking about using them for a race in 2016 if I can’t get in online. I think I want to return to IMFL but don’t want to to travel there and volunteer.

If this is the same deal they were offering on site at IMAZ last year, I’d say it was a wee bit cost prohibitive for most people.
The best way to get in at this point is if you have any friends, contacts or friends of friends (you get the picture) who work for official sponsors of IM events. They will all have a number of entries to all IM events. If you have any “ins”, get a hold of them NOW for these two events. I tried to get into IMAZ via this route in June/July of last year and Ironman wasn’t budging on any of the sponsor’s allotted slots.

I think the childrens tumor foundation has a few spots open for Ironman florida.
give endurancesportstravel.com a call…they have a few different packages…ask for Ty…he’ll give you the scoop…
Are you allergic to hills? Because there are some races that aren’t dead flat that have openings. Canada, Louisville, Tahoe, Maryland…

Is it seriously still open and cheaper than a Foundation slot? That’s kind of odd.
You have to purchase hotel through them too which has a mark up.

I’d be surprised too if it were still open. If you do the foundation slot and stay somewhere really really cheap then EST isn’t as good a deal but I wanted to be close and have a decent room since I will have family along so I opted for the additional EST perks. They do a nice job.

Yes they do - worth every penny. Plus if you get one with Ken that’s even better. Super nice guy and a legend at Kona.
For me, it’s all a question of timing with work and Army obligations, and what works best for the family, trying to make it a vacation for them and still stay affordable. I like climbing, and would love to do Canada, but living in FL, the cost of doing IMFL with the fam along is 1/2 of what Canada would be…
