Our masters swim coach is looking into getting some underwater speakers to be able to communicate with swimmers while they’re swimming. Does anyone have experience with a setup like this? Is this effective? What we’re seeing right now is when we’re doing technique sets nobody really hears him when he’s yelling out feedback from the pool deck, so he has to interrupt people at the end of a lap to give them feedback. His idea is to have some underwater speakers through which he could give ‘real-time’ feedback to swimmers while they’re swimming. I’d love to know if anyone has ever worked with a system like this, and if there are specific speaker systems that work well, or should be avoided. FWIW- it’s a pretty small pool… 25y long by 7 or 8 lanes wide.
