Anyone use the full size trainer stand by CT?

The cables tie off to the stand instead of the bike allowing for quick mount/release. Has anyone seen/used it?

I built the stand they describe in one of their documents. Plywood base with the normal stand bolted to it. There is a pipe coming up out the plywood base near the handlebars. The pipe holds the controller. All the wires except cadence are permanently connected. It would be trivial to make a little stand for the cadence as well. All cables are permantly routed underneath the plywood so they are out of the way. I put 12" squares of cheap vinyl flooring on the plywood to protect it from sweat and make it look nicer.

The base works well and has a nice unexpected side effect of making the c-trainer quieter. I leave a cheap road bike mounted on the base, but it is very simple to change out bikes since you don’t have to move the controller or use the velcro straps on the frame. Total cost, $20 plywood, $5 pipe, $10 vinyl flooring.

I bought some gym type mat from Target for the floor and I use a Microphone boom stand for the controller. It was easier than building something. If you want pics I can get some.

I built one. It’s great. The only drawback is it weighs about 100 pounds.
