Anyone tried the FSA Neo Pro Cranks?

Anyone had any time on them?

Did you get any response from this? I’m contemplating putting this crank/BB on a new build…wonder if its worth the extra couple hundred bucks…

Question is, would the aero benefit over DA justify the weight? You can get a ceramic BB and use with DA. Either the numbers are wrong on their web page or that thing is too heavy.

Tough to find right now. Saw some on the CSC bikes and they looked nice enough for us to order some. Expensive. More available the middle of next month according to FSA.

Its heavy - and would be noticeable, I think…but didn’t know if the extra beef would give extra stiffness? Also going to be paired with campy rear end, so can’t configure DA.

What do you guys meanby “stiff”? Do you guys able to bend or flex DA or any other brand on the market?
I’ve seen it at the shop, not impressed except the sweet BB. I think you can use the BB with DA sets. I’ve seen Tim DeBooms Felt has the Dura Ace but the red FSA BB on it.

One of the local shop in my Area has one in stock. very cool looking but so expensive! I’m more curious about the new dura ace carbon crank and the new easton crank.

I should expect to get a pair soon for my new TT bike and I am very excited to check them out.

IF you are thinking go getting a pair wheel and deal with the bike shop. The LBS is buying them for around $300.

Not even close to $300 wholesale…if you can get me this price Ill take 40 of them…

Are you sure? I’m 99% sure that I saw the markup was 100% on this crankset.

why not DA?? it works fine with campy

i just checked…shocking how expensive this crank is at wholesale cost…

I haven’t been able to find anyone that’s been on them yet. One of my main reasons for being interested in the crank was because I’m on 650s and would need bigger rings. Price doesn’t seem to bad, when compared with buying a red crankset and BB, plus then having to swap out the rings.

Not DA mainly due to personal preference. If I’m going to mix it up, I’d prefer not to mix DA and campy. Just preference, I guess. Why do some like Cervelo, some QRoo - they can both achieve pretty much identical geometry with various components.

In a semi-egotistical vein (and likely similar to anyone here), I want my bike to be a total personal build, let people to notice it as a piece of art, and have nobody else have anything like it - and so I’m actually considering pretty much any components at the moment that meet my needs and likes, perform very well, but will keep my ride a total individual in the racks. And given that the thing will come in more than my crappy POS Dodge Daytona in high school cost by using any good components, a couple hundred extra bucks isn’t really going to kill the creativity.

Without fighting the Shimano versus SRAM versus Campy versus Sampson, etc, I’m a campy guy, but am considering the FSA versus the Campy or Zipp or other cranks. I’m not really concerned about a couple hundred gs in the cranks…serious hills will be reserved for the road bike, and I’m a masher not a spinner, so am not worried about the 54/42 setup. Besides, I can drop the weight gain from the FSA (roughly 200g) in other places easily enough (say brakes - Zero gravity vs campy gets 100g back), but I’m not really worried about it. If we think weight only, we all put tons of weight on the bike while riding it without thinking as it is (hydration, food, tires, tubes, etc.) and don’t count it. It doesn’t matter so much what it weighs without pedals, bottles, etc. Especially on a flat road - conservation of momentum, baby! j/k

I was just curious as to people’s experiences with performance of that particular crank/BB - other cranksets have been pretty well documented here by searching except the FSA. And I like the way it looks. Only asking. Thanks.

Last time I checked you aren’t doing much sprinting in a triathlon, and the rotational mass is important for “spinning it up to speed.” Plus it already has the aero chainrings and comes in a 54/42 gearing. Plus it looks cooler than DA. And is certainly more aero. Combined with the cermaic BB you have one fast crank. I plan on getting it on my Jamis T2, and think it looks better with the frame as well.
