Anyone tried Hincapie shorts?
I’ve got a pair of the bibs–and they rule. Well-designed, high quality fabric and stitching, nice padding in the crotch. I’ve taken several 80+ mile rides in them, and I’ve never had any problems. They are as comfy as top of the line Castelli. I also have a long sleeve jersey and one of their ski caps as well–it’s the same thing with those. They are great! Highly recommended.
Yup, got a couple pairs of bibs last month. They are the most comfortable shorts I’ve used, ever. That list includes Cannondale, Voler, Verge, Pearl Izumi, Nike, and others that I forget. All of those were pretty good, but the Hincapies are better.
Haven’t had them long enough to see about durability. My 'Dale shorts are still going strong after 7 years, so they might be hard to beat.
Our cycling team used Hincapie shorts this year for the team uniform. Everyone likes the smooth, soft material. And the chamois is very comfortable for long rides. The only odd thing… the waist goes up too high on me. They sit all the way up above my belly button. But, some people might prefer that they are longer into the torso. It isn’t uncomfortable, just different than all my other shorts.
I’ll be trying them out. I just ordered some based on your reccomendation from Colorado Cyclist with fast delivery for this weekend. Thanks for the info.
After reading about users of Hincapie cycling shorts and comfort I decided to check out the prices of bib shorts on their site. $129 per pair. Is it worth the cost? Or is there someplace selling them for less?
thanks
I got mine at Supergo in Vista, CA for somewhere around $100. Still expensive, but for long rides definitely worth it.
I ordered from Colorado Cyclist just because I figured they have them in stock and would probably have better delivery schedule. Price seems to be the same (129 for bibs)
