I bought into the UA hype and purchased the Revenant’s a couple weeks ago. I have to say, I’m really impressed. I wanted to get away from Newtons, because I just couldn’t accept the price tag, and UA offers three stability models for under $120.
I’ve put about 40 miles into them so far, with my longest run only 9 miles (it’s still early in the season ). No blisters, no hot spots, no sore calves, just blissful running. I went and bought the Illusion’s tonight for racing, since they are vented, and ran in them to see if they felt the same. So far so good.
The only thing I didn’t like is that they’re not available at specialty stores, but at this point in the game, I know how my shoes should feel.
Anyone else having a good experience with theirs ?

You do have the stability shoe? Relative to other stability shoes you’ve run in (assuming you have…) how would you compare/contrast the Under Armor shoe?
So sorry, I should have clarified. They are the stabilty shoes. I had run in Newton Distance S shoes before, but switched to Nike’s for God knows why. I dropped those after UA brought out the running line.
My impression: Maybe it’s good mechanics I picked up from Newton, but these shoes encourage me to strike on my mid-foot. The cushioning in the forefoot is perfect for me, as I am a heavier runner (5’11", 175 lbs). The toe box is roomy, which I appreciated. It took 2 runs to get used to the elastic band around my arches, but now they’re not a factor at all. They’re a little heavy compared to Newton. I think the Revenant’s weigh 12 oz., and the Illusion’s weigh 10.5 oz (?).
Like I said, I’m really stoked with what they have, and can’t wait to do another race with these shoes.
Yep, I’m sure. Target date is May 25th but they’ll know for sure at the beginning of the month. It will be red and grey, and looks really nice. No word on the price yet, sorry.
Thanks for the info. Will it be a copy of the one Macca wears or different? Its a good thing you mentioned it cause i was about to go for a new 2xu kit. I guess i’ll wait till May to see what UA makes. Keep us updated!
