Anyone running in the new Adidas Adios Boost 3.0?

I love love love the Adios Boost 2.0… Can anyone comment on the changes who have run in both?

I’m a big fan of the Adios Boost as well. I got 4 pairs of the 2.0 and recently got the Adios 3. Overall the feel is very similar. If you love the 2.0, you’ll love the 3. I have approximately 150 miles on them and they barely show any wear.

A few comments:
The upper seems a little more accommodating in the forefoot. If you look closely, there is a little cut-off in the lateral toe bumper and it relieved a pressure point I had with the 2. (I used to not lace the bottom two eyelets in the 2.0 and I don’t have this problem with the 3)The outsole is more durable in the rear foot (looks like they use a more durable rubber back there) and the forefoot (no more little nubs / the outsole is closer to the Boston 5)The traction seems equal if not a little better in the wet

You should give them a go. They’re expensive, but the great mileage and responsive cushioning are worth it in my opinion. I would rather get the 3 full price than the 2.0 at a discount.

I liked the narrowness of the 2.0 and the suppleness of the sole. More durable means less pop

My only issue with either is that I couldn’t wear them sockless.

They really feel just as responsive in the forefoot. Don’t be scared by the new outsole. As for the narrowness, they’re about the same width. The toe bumper is made differently and it relieved a pressure point on my foot. You might not even feel a difference. You should go to your local running shop and try them. You’ll know for sure.

yeah, my running shops don’t carry the Adios for whatever reason… not a market for “racing flats” maybe, even though they’re just trainers.

You could order online in the adidas store (if you do, don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter to get 15 % off - use a secondary email address not to get the emails…).

Free return shipping, so nothing to lose really.

Those fast kenyans seem to like them as race shoes!

Any difference in the mid/forefoot? I like them too but do most of my running in the old/narrow versions of the Energy Boost. I ask because I need a bit more cushion. I can’t do more than 10k in them.

They just swapped out some of the strange “dot outsole” for a more traditional blown rubber outsole. Midsole tooling remained the same, which should give you the same overall ride. Slender fit through the midfoot, slightly more forgiving on the fit in the forefoot (can still get it snug, just moved a couple of pieces around to give those of us with a wider met base a chance at getting into the shoe).

Adios moves in pretty low volumes overall, and adi ordering minimums are notorious for initial runs, which is why you don’t typically see it in shops.

I know right? getting away from big oversized running shoes was the best thing I ever did and changed my life.

cool that’s good to know. I know I’m probably over thinking it but I’m one of those runners that once I find a shoe I stick with it. I think I’ll snag the last few remaining Adios 2.0 pairs from eBay or wherever and also get a set of 3.0s and fit them into the rotation.

Considering that the polyurethane “Boost” material doesn’t have the same issues with shelf-life that EVA does, definitely a good call.

Same responsive feel in the forefoot and forgiving feel in the heel. If you need more cushion, I would try the Boston 5.

there is some research out there showing that the boost material can lower the cost of running compared to other shoes.

shhhh!

you know I’ve been using them for years
