Raleigh makes some really good CX and gravel bikes and they can be had for pretty cheap. The Tamland is a nice bike. If you are a member of any of these Abenity discount groups you can get 40% off Raleigh bikes.
I just got a mail yesterday that their Tamland is 25% off. I’ve owned 4 Raleigh’s and think they are very, very good and unfortunately an under the radar company that is probably struggling a little.
The Willard 2 is actually one of the first finds that seems to be close to my price point and hits my list of needs, including a big boy size since I’m 6’6. At 1399 that’s not bad. Thanks for bringing them up.

Cool. Good luck. Let us know what you end up with.
I bought a soma double cross frame about 4 years back and built it up with a bunch of extra parts I had in the basement. Campy compact crank, dura ace 9 speed shifters and derailleur, avid shorty center pulls and head CX wheels. All steel and rides great. Took it to northern MI last weekend for some Gravel riding, double track and even some light single track.
I also got a great deal on a felt f5x. I use it mostly for CX and Gravel racing. Nice bike running ultegra and discs. While I like the disc brakes certain pads are shit in rain and sandy conditions.
