I was listening to the Steve Larsen interview on CompetitorRadio and then I remember a while back reading in triathlete magazine an article about how Steve Larsen was “training like a cyclists who does triathlon”. It had a weekly schedule. Anyone remember or have this schedule that they could post?? I thought the schedule was pretty interesting b/c so much of it was to be done on the road bike.
I remember it but don’t have it. Think he recommended something like 90% of his training time on his road bike. Since he was the easily the fastest cyclist in triathlon at the time, who dared to argue.
i liked the interview. The part i found the most interesting was basically what you are getting at: the idea of training your strengths not your weaknesses.
That is a great interview and totally makes you wonder and ponder current training protocols. Did you get the impression that he is racing pro at Canada this year or was I mistaken?
