Anyone looking to adopt an older kitty?

X-posted.

So, I know this is one of those long-shot things, but whatever. I like to visit the humane society to give the babies some love, drop off supplies, leave a few bucks, whatever, from time to time. Right now, they have the bestest cat in the colony room: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=8419496

I know the sad reality of what happens to the bulk of shelter cats–and I also know how hard it is to find homes for young adult cats, let alone seniors. http://www.runango.com/forumd/default/sml_neg.gif Buddy is an older cat–he’s probably 12 or so, and while he’s cute, he IS an older cat, and you’re not going to mistake him for a kitten http://www.runango.com/forumd/default/sml_tng.gif That being said, he’s calm, patient, and a lover. Yesterday, when I visited, he was in the cat colony room, and came up to get love. All nice like, though–not bossy or whiny. So I was petting and petting him, and then I tried to pick him up. Usually cats don’t like it a whole lot, but he totally let me. And then I carried him around like a baby for 10 minutes. He went to SLEEP in like 5 seconds. http://www.runango.com/forumd/default/sml_hea.gifhttp://www.runango.com/forumd/default/sml_hea.gif

I visit the shelter a lot, like once a week or so. I know what happens to most of the babies; I know cats get put down all the time, and it’s a sad fact. I can’t save all of them–but this guy, for whatever reason, kinda spoke to me. Yeah, he’s 10-12. But in cat years, that’s middle age He’s got 6, 8, 10+ years left, so I thought I’d give him a plug. http://www.runango.com/forumd/default/sml_pos.gif

I would love love love to bring him home myself (and already tried that suggestion), but the last dog about caused a divorce. So…you know, I’m just putting out some feelers, just in case anyone was looking for an older kitty http://www.runango.com/forumd/default/sml_hea.gif

I am such a shameless animal pimp these days http://www.runango.com/forumd/default/sml_roll.gif

Where is kitty? What city?

St. Paul.

You are a good person.

I hope you can find him a home…
