So, I know this is one of those long-shot things, but whatever. I like to visit the humane society to give the babies some love, drop off supplies, leave a few bucks, whatever, from time to time. Right now, they have the bestest cat in the colony room: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=8419496
I know the sad reality of what happens to the bulk of shelter cats–and I also know how hard it is to find homes for young adult cats, let alone seniors.
Buddy is an older cat–he’s probably 12 or so, and while he’s cute, he IS an older cat, and you’re not going to mistake him for a kitten
That being said, he’s calm, patient, and a lover. Yesterday, when I visited, he was in the cat colony room, and came up to get love. All nice like, though–not bossy or whiny. So I was petting and petting him, and then I tried to pick him up. Usually cats don’t like it a whole lot, but he totally let me. And then I carried him around like a baby for 10 minutes. He went to SLEEP in like 5 seconds.

I visit the shelter a lot, like once a week or so. I know what happens to most of the babies; I know cats get put down all the time, and it’s a sad fact. I can’t save all of them–but this guy, for whatever reason, kinda spoke to me. Yeah, he’s 10-12. But in cat years, that’s middle age He’s got 6, 8, 10+ years left, so I thought I’d give him a plug.
I would love love love to bring him home myself (and already tried that suggestion), but the last dog about caused a divorce. So…you know, I’m just putting out some feelers, just in case anyone was looking for an older kitty
I am such a shameless animal pimp these days
