Anyone like running with the Newtons

I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the Newtons? I currently run with Asics Kayano’s and like them. I was thinking about upgrading to the either the Asic’s Kinsei’s or Newtons if they would improve performance/comfort etc. Also, how do the hold up. My Asics tend to wear fairly fast with my running style. Thanks for the input.

I think you need to do a little more research (and likely running) first. The Asics Kinsei and Newton xxx are about polar opposite shoes.

My short answer to you if you want to increase “performance” out of a shoe (I’ll have to infer what you mean by that) and stay with Asics - try out a Gel Landreth first and go from there. Will save you almost a $100 bucks at that

NO

6 weeks
15 runs

No fun

If I were 5-10 145 and trained at 6:15/racing at 5:00

But I am not

Each shoe is defferent. I love my Newtons and ran a full marathon this morning in them without any foot pain at any time. However, I recently purchased the Saucony Grid Sinister a sa racing flat replacement. After 30-40 miles, I developed horrible Morton’s Neuroma in my right foot. Put the shoes away for 2 weeks, pain went away, tried one more run, immediately came back. Luckily the last time I ran in them was more than 2 weeks ago and I had fully recovered so today was blissful as far as the feet were concerned. I also run with light neutral shoes and have their racing flat version (which I got for $99 on sale). I would definitely buy them again at that price…not sure about 159. Also, the wear seems reasonable. Now, am I noticeably faster…no. I did post a 3:09 though which is a PR by 5 minutes in cold, windy and slightly rainy conditions.
