Anyone know how I can find out how many registered cyclist there are in the USA?...and runners?

tired to find a site, but no luck.

Thanks!

What is a “registered” cyclist?

Do you actually register somewhere to be a cyclist or runner? Maybe checkout the memberships at USAT and US Cycling.

Well, there are ~54,000 current USA Cycling license holders (if that’s what you’re asking).

Sorry…someone who holds a license to race cat. 5-1

cool…thanks.

FYI, There are likely many regions/states where USAC is not the main body that does race organization, etc.

For instance, in Colorado USAC is hardly used except for collegiate racing and the ACA does everything. www.americancycling.org

thanks!

The only thing that could equate with “registering” as a runner in the US is probably USATF membership. However it’s not like USAC membership or even USAT membership. You don’t need to join USATF to do most running races in the US. There are no CAT-1, CAT-2, etc divisions. I don’t need to be insured personally to run a race. The race gets its own insurance and I am covered whether I joined USATF or not.

That’s one of the things I love about running. I don’t need to pay a membership fee.
