Anyone in Enid, Ok?

Headed to Enid in Jan for a couple years on a work assignment. Anyone out there? Looking on info on where to live? where to train? running groups? masters swim? group rides? blah blah blah…

Thanks in advance
Mike

crickets…

You may have better luck reaching out to these guys; http://www.triokc.org/. They helped me out a few years ago with some questions.

I don’t think there is a whole lot going on in Enid. I live in Oklahoma City which is only an hour or so south. Lots to do here but finding much in Enid may be a bit of a stretch. Probably some good rural roads to ride on but my guess is that is about it.

Thanks guys…

https://www.facebook.com/EnidTriathletes, and there is a Triathlon in Enid (August)
Vance AFB has a Cycling Club, and listed contact is chris@chrissussmann.com
That link took me to http://chrissussmann.com/contact/
Ilso found an annual event that looks like fun: http://www.tourdetrykes.com/
There’s a YMCA in Enid, but so far have not found any Masters swim groups close to there.
For a listing of bike clubs, go to http://www.okbike.org/ home page, click on resources, and Bike Clubs comes up first on the drop down.
Also a list of Bike Shops, which are great resources for all sorts of info you might need.
Good luck, let us know what you find.

Pray it’s not winter!! (Dec-March). And prepare for brutal wind. Nice little Specialized shop there in town. Even a sprint tri in summer. I’m also from OKC. About 90 miles south. I’ve ridden in the Tour De Trykes a couple times. Check that route out online. And highway 81 south all the way to El Reno/Chickashea is about the best road in the state. Do all my long rides there. Shoot me a PM if you need anything. I’ve got plenty friends/family up that way. Some best deer/quail/pheasant hunting in the world in your backyard.

I was stationed at Vance back in 2000. Prettymuch the answer to everything was to hesd to OKC. Not much to do there back then. I hope its better now!

Great info… Thank you…
