Anyone have good multi-bike power and training set-up ideas?
Bikes:
TT and Road bike
I have a TT bike and I’m going to purchase a road bike soon for outdoor training.
I pretty much train indoors exclusively for both scheduling and safety reasons.
Trainers:
Wahoo Kickr that I use with Trainer Road (means a rear-wheel powermeter isn’t an option to get readings on the Kickr)
Rollers
What are good ways to handle a multi-bike set-up that would work with all trainers ?
Pedals seem to be the only option that would allow me to move across bikes, and get consistent readings across my different bikes and trainers.
Are there any other options that might work?
I feel like other folks have come up with good solutions for this issue…Thanks in advance!
You want a pair of Brimm Brothers Zone power cleats. I don’t know if they will ever actually make it to market, but these would be the idea pedal for multiple bikes. http://www.brimbrothers.com

sure. get an SRM and move it when you need to. or buy 2. you won’t have to worry about reliability, and they’re total battle axes. IME, other meters can be solid but have longevity and accuracy issues (quarq) or don’t allow the end user to calibrate slope (power2max). you said PT is not an option.
I use my road bike for virtual power on Trainer Road and when I use my tri bike on Trainer road I switch the setting in TR to train by HR instead of power.
Not the cheapest option for sure, but I run a Quarq on my tri bike so I can swap the wheels from training to racing, and then run a powertap on the road bike. Neither device is finicky, and while I am generally adept at wrenching, I hate having to swap stuff around just to ride a different bike. I prefer to grab whatever bike is appropriate for the ride I am doing and have it be ready to roll.
