I’m looking to buy a road bike to put some miles in this winter, but I’m a little strapped for cash. Fortframes.com has some good deals with an Altec2+ tubeset/Ultegra setup but I’m still unsure. Does anyone have experience with a Fort frame?
How come dirtball!? The tube sets look nice (I’m thinking Altec2+ or Ro.7005slc), and seem a bargain, but I guess I’m just hesitant to buy other than the “big” names. That being said, I don’t want to spent an extra $300 just for a “big name” decal if the performance is the more or less the same!!!
I have emailed them before (in the USA) and like the Eastern Europe stuff. Tufo tires come from their abouts to.I want a steel frame. Their older stuff had a shorter top tube. Moving comfort !! For the price you can’t go wrong if it fits you. Great paint to
dirtball
I finally called them and I think I’m going to give the Altec2+ a go. I looked at some lesser known frames (in the USA) like Coppi and Ciocc but I couldn’t come up with a better build kit than Fort.
I have their aero frame, great bike and the price is the best.
I had a Zona frame, and sold it, and regret it to this day. It was one of the best riding bikes i’ve ever owned. Bought another one, but the alignment was never right. That still does not change my opinion of the bikes, top notch bikes and great prices.
One other thing, Greg at Fort is a great guy and very honest. He really stands behind the products.
