Just curious how many people reading this forum are from Mexico, I´m from Chihuahua, Chihuahua, and there is no water here just the olympic pool, anyway, I just want to see how many slowtwitchers are from my country.
he aqui uno, aunque vivo en Seattle.
saludos. viva MX.
What are you doing there bro? I mean apart from training? Saludos desde la madre patria.
I´m starting to feel like an island…
My wife & I live up here. I stayed here after I got done with school. Is Chih warming up by now? Que tal con los escandalos politicos, eh?
nos vemos
Yep, it´s starting to get warm but just last week there was a “granizo” storm and 500 new cars were damaged because of the ice, there are a lot of political scandals I guess is the price of democracy, I´m married to I´m gonna be a father in about 6 weeks … how old are you? I´m 30 years on my way to 31 …
I’m from north of the US border, not south of it, but have visited your country several times. My favorite is the Cozumel/Yucatan area since I’m also an avid scuba diver. Stayed in Cozumel twice and Akumel once.
Just curious, are there any triathlons in that area that you may be aware of?
I just checked the National Triathlon Events and it seems there is one in Cozumel on September 12 seems to be an Oly and a Sprint, here is the link of the National Events:

I´m just curious, why your nickname? I know is because of the bikes but why exactly you choose your nickname?
I lived for one year in Ensenada, Baja California.
Hey Francois, I´m in chihuahua, about 4 hrs from el paso, we are very close !! I see you´ve been training like a “loco” (virtual camp), way to go!!!
"why your nickname? I know is because of the bikes "
Thanks for the info about the tri in Cozumel. The above statement says it all about the nickname. I could have also called myself giantguy because I also own a TCR, but that nickname sounds like I’d be bragging about anatomy!
I did change my handle to Doc Greg for awhile since it’s my local area nickname, but changed it back to cerveloguy just because it’s how I started on the forum. If I ever sell the bike then I might have to consider a name change.
Jaime,
congrats on being a daddy! I am not there (yet), but I do hear training takes a whole different “meaning”… What races are you doing this season? Circuito Nacional? Are you part of FMTri? I was thinking of Huatulco for the Half in November, but this season is already expensive, so it may have to wait 'til next year…
Did you see IM NZ on the web? Carlos Sandoval, 9:40? Muy bien por nuestro compatriota!
saludos
jc
I know MaadMan was held in September last year, Cancun. I don’t know if they are doing it again this year. I tried to find you a link but wasn’t successful.
Unfortunately I´m just a newbie, I´m planning to race just on Creel this year, it´s hard for me to participate in the Circuito Nacional because of my job and because of my location, however, I want to do a Half on San Diego next year and the Maadman in 2 years (I hope it will be there), mainly this year is goin to be a lot of run races (10k), (21K), and I want to participate in a 42 Km on Guachochi (Ultramaraton de los cañones 100Km, 63 KM and 42KM). What about you do you have a lot of experience, in what races you want or are going to participate? Here is the link for the Maadman: http://www.maadman.com/
Doing the circuito nal. requires a lot of time. I am 2+ yrs into this, but I am sure you know it’s like a drug. My lack of swimming background has kept me to shorter courses. The last 6months I’ve focused on building a good base. I will be racing locally, 3-4 sprints, 3 olys and a Half IM. I am still trying to see if I have the time/$ for Huatulco in November. I’d like to do an IM in 2005. Cda is the logical choice for me, but I’d love to go somewhere else and make a vacation out of it… I gotta do it in 2005, cuz I know once we have a little one, training 20+hrs/week is just not going to work out… it’s ok right now, but I am sure it won’t be in the future… after that, I’ll probably do mostly <= half…
i know a couple other tri guys from Mexico who live here in WA, but they don’t visit this site.
i’ve heard of the ultramaraton, it must be a site to see… good luck with your training…
si tienes tele…
i know, I really love to train, but I don´t know too many triathletes here so I mainlty train alone, but I really love it, even that sometimes is hard (work, wife, family ,etc): I´m a very lousy swimmer and a very slow one, however that gaves a lot of room for improvement :). I really hope you can go to Huatulco and I wish you best of luck with all your training and your races, there is no yet a site for the Ultramaraton, but If I see one i will send it to you. Keep in touch and Viva Mexico !!!
