An unusual situation…this week I went to take a bike off the Kickr after a ride and the skewer was very hot to the touch. This heat had dispersed and traveled up the bike frame (about 6 inches on each tube on the rear triangle from the derailleur hanger up). Thoughts?
Thanks.
Just guessing here… Could the skewer have been a little lose, so that it would have had slight movement? That would generate a lot of heat over a session.
This is easy. Get a carbon bike and skewer. Carbon doesn’t conduct heat.
Carbon can get pretty hot, and unfortunately, it doesn’t dissipate heat very well. Just talk to the folks with carbon clinchers.
