See how it sags in the middle? This is a pretty new saddle and has been doing this after every ride. I do sit in the center of the saddle obviously, and I weigh 160lbs, but have never seen any other Profile saddles sagging in the middle like this. Am I just a fatass?
I’ve ridden the same saddle for over two years now, but strictly on the nose (and the center has a slight depression, nothing like yours). I suspect the deformity is resulting from centering your weight over the cut-out area, collapsing the foam into the cutout. Doesn’t look very comfy.
Yeah, it is for sure caused by my putting my weight over the cutout, which I like, but it just seems like the saddle really compresses alot. It actually is comfortable. The first saddle that’s allowed me to do IM distance rides with just tri shorts as opposed to bike shorts.
Boarder – Absolutely. Ticks me off massively, too.
I started with an earlier version, and the material is much stiffer. Compresses about half that much. So, I bought another for my other bike. But… it is much softer and exactly like yours. Unless I stay on the nose – tough in group rides, etc – I am begging for saddle sores with that one. I think they are just plain defective. My older, stiffer one, is now compressing more as well.
Have you tried the solid, non-cutout version? That may be my next test. Don’t bother with the Elite version – it’s as hard as a rock and gave me the worst saddle sores I’ve ever had.
Mine developed slight sag/depression in middle after a year . Although I move around on the saddle a lot from front to rear.
I also have the one with the cut out. I just replaced with a new one. It is the most comfortable tri saddle I have found and am willing to replace it once a year if I must.
Yah, regular bike shorts feel very odd on one of these - it really is a tri saddle. It seems to me that - sagging aside - the nose of the saddle is a bit high in your pic, accentuating the apparent sag. It took me a while to get used to mine - but now I really appreciate its sterling qualities!
Just like mtodd, I replaced mine after a year (although it sagged significantly, it was still comfortable). I waited until it was on sale at Performance for $39. I figure spending $40 or $50 a year to guarantee zero saddle issues is money well spent.

When I put the saddle on, it was completely level. I’ve been using it for less than a month and it’s already sagging that much. I ride about 3 days/week on that bike and am 2 weeks out from IMC, so I’ve been doing some long Saturday rides and medium distance midweek rides with it. Still comfortable, but I’m going to adjust the tilt on it and see what happens.
yes, that’s why I got rid of mine. The sag was on the cutout, so I my taint was resting on the plastic cutout…not very comfy. PD replaced mine with the one w/o the cutout. It helped, but I later found the SLR T1 to be my saddle.
though if it’s still comfortable, with our race only 2 weeks away… Mine is the one without the cutout - it’s been well-behaved in the few months I’ve had it. Looking forward to wearing tri shorts all through the event this year .
I’ve switched to saddles WITH cutouts after using a Serfas Tri saddle for over a year that didn’t have one and always left me with sleepee peepee. Gotta have the cutout and a soft saddle, so the new Profile one without it probably wouldn’t be my cuppa tea.
I am having the same issue with my saddle and trying to decide whether to just get a new one as they are fairly cheap or try to find another brand/model that feels as good as this one did when it was new. Has anyone else switched from the Profile Design Trystrike (with cutout) and to something that was similar but held its form/lasted longer?
