Hi,
Not sure if it is just the unit I have but I noticed during today’s ride that if you pause the 310 by hitting the stop button, say when you stop for a water refill etc. during a ride, it messes up the data recording. You get strange graphs with a long time gap of no data recording that corresponds to the duration of the stop.
It seems as if the 310XT is using clock time to record with the data, rather than stopwatch time, which is fairly useless.
You can see this when looking at the raw data as shown in this screen cap. i stopped the bike and the stopwatch at 1:29:08, and restarted the stopwatch 18 mins later. Instead of resuming the data record at 1:29:09, you see the problem…
I pulled the file into WKO+ and Saris Poweragent software and there is the same problem with how the time is recorded, so the same weird graphs as Garmin connect displays:
i contacted Garmin but they said the same thing about the last problem I encountered, being unable to download my previous workout, which was to perform a hard-reset. Of course, I had done this just before the ride, so it really doesn’t address the issue.
So far, 1 week into my Garmin 310XT test…1 workout completely lost, 1 incident of the watch popping spontaneously off the band (thankfully, when wheeling my bike to the start of the ride), and now noticing this strange time stamping.
Any thoughts? Getting discouraged.
chad.
