Anyone else disappointed with Season 2 of Prison Break?

I gotta say that season 2 was a disappointment for the following reasons: I enjoyed season 1 because it was about Michael using his intelligence to outsmart the system, but this past season seemed to go back to the boring Hollywood style guts 'n glory of car chases and gun fights. What happened to great story writing? Gaps in the story. What the hell is going on with Psycho man? Have the writers forgotten that this guy is still at large? Although season 1 was far fetched, it was also made believable in Hollywood style. This past season is fricken ridiculous what they get away with. Michael is no longer protrayed as an exceptionally smart individual. This was the appeal for me during season 1. How the fuck does a clothes iron stop a man with a gun? Why couldn’t Kellerman just push Dr.Tangredi away? That was enough to let her get away - I call bullshit. IMO it would have been much better to keep Mahone and kill off Kellerman. Mahone has so much more character.

You’ve articulated a lot of my Season 2 thoughts. I came into Prison Break late and got hooked rather easily because 1) Wentworth Miller is a hottie and 2) I thought the Season 1 storyline was really unique. I mean, seriously, I never would’ve thought about the tatoo thing in a million years. However, Season 2 has been quite a disappointment. I think they’re really abusing the conspiracy angle too much and what’s up with all the random people recognizing the convicts? T-Bag’s character rocks. The guy’s such a great actor.

You touched on something that I forgot to mention. T-Bag is DEFINITELY the glue in the show. He is such a great actor and the only one providing excitement to the show.

Speaking of T-bag, couldn’t they at least include a little realism? It’s just a bit much to swallow that a man can have his hand cut off, reattached by a vet(the animal kind) in a crappy clinic, torn off off again by his own means, then kill a perfectly healthy prison guard that outweighs him by a hundred pounds.

Journeying into the unbelievable, far-fetched, or just down right ridiculous is the nature of a serial show like this. You just can’t keep a story like this going without getting a bit ridiculous. Lost is the same way. At least 24 has the good sense to change the bad guys and scenario every season.

To me, it’s still a compelling show but the last episode tips the hand as to how this will end up: hooked up with Kellerman, the “conspiracy” plot will finally come to light, the President will be forced to resign and all will be well with Michael and Link, and Sara and Michael will be married on a beach in Panama…

…or something like that.

But I’ll still watch. It’s kind of funny to watch the plot unfold and I think it even winks at itself—again with the last episode, they pull the guard watching the brothers in the transport vehicle (yeah, okay) and his keys somehow are left behind. And oh, they’re parked right by an open door leading to the inner workings of the tunnel. Yeah.

But at least they meant for that to happen as that was part of the “plot” hatched my Mahone and Kellerman…normally, that would be how the unbelievable plot would unfold and the boys would once again by the narrowest of hairs extricate themselves from their latest entanglement…

Hell talk about tipping the hand…the new season of 24 hasn’t EVEN STARTED and they already tipped off how it starts showing Jack shuffling off a plane in CHinese clothes with a beard…prisoner exchange anyone…

I think you nailed the eniter arc of the show exact at the wedding “hay-wire” shows up in the sail boat and blasts Michael in the chest…just because you haven’t seen him most of season 2. call it the Layer Cake ending.

There’s always the chance Mahone is not dead, as well…we saw him shot but don’t believe we got confirmation he was actually killed. With this show, nothing will be surprising as a plot twist!

And this could all be a dream…
