Just fantasizing at the moment, am training towards an iron distance race in late 2008.
Initial thoughts were IM Florida, which has the advantage of being fairly economically friendly.
And then again…
If I scrimp a little, a nice 3 week trip to Oz wrapped around an IM might not be a bad idea either ( and I’ve got family in Perth, Canberra and Darwin )
I haven’t but am doing this year. All accounts say this is a FANTASTIC race. Very well run, smaller group of participants (to me a big plus), and extremely fun.
Hi, yep its a well run race with a good course. The swim is around a pier, recommend being able to breath to the right… Bike flat and fast, but that kills the quads, run is also great along the waterfront. The Busselton area is in the middle of Vinyards and has some of the Best Surf around. Its a short 3 hour drive south of Perth… Its on my list to do again.
I did it in 05, wife did it in 06…we are trying to work out who does it this year.
Great race, great place (only problem is its stuck in West Australia…just jokes), course is good…flat bike is hard when the wind comes up (and it will). Run can be hot and if it is lumpy in the blue wobbley stuff it can be a tough swim like it was in 05. Last year the swim was perfect and flat.
