Comfortable? I’m considering a set up similar to Tom D’s Cervelo R2.5 - can’t afford two bikes right now. However, for argument’s sake, what would be better: average road and tri bikes, or one kick-ass R2.5?
A freind of mine did his first IMLP last year on his steep P2K and cursed the whole time wishing he was on his Soloist with shorties.
Of couse IMLP has some good climbs and technical decents. Is your 1/2 flat or hilly?
It depends on the individual rider and the course.
If I was in your shoes with this choice, the R.2.5 looks very tempting.
I’ve seen it done…by the guy who had the fastest bike split the race (Canberra 1/2 2004). He had a disc set up/steep angle and so on, the only difference to the regular bar con thing was the cow horn/sti/shorties thing.
The half is quiite flat, but I really think that I’ll get more use out of the road bike - sprints, Oly’s, and road races. Does it sound like I’ve just made up my mind?!
"Does it sound like I’ve just made up my mind?! "
Good decision IMO.
Going downstairs to take photos of my Trek 5200 for ebay!
Lost the bloody USB cable for my camera! Ahhh!
