Just wandering if anyone is signed up for this inaugural 1/2 IM? Curious about water temp? Road conditions? etc…any locals care to comment?
I am. That area is flat as a board, so be prepared to tempo the bike and be in the aerobars the whole trip. It’s inland, so wind shouldn’t be a big issue, but who knows. Don’t know about water temp, but a lot of those lakes in South Jersey are shallow, so they warm up faster.
I’m doing it, and looking forward to the blistering fast bike splits. My mouth is watering. It should be a fun race. As of now there are 322 individuals signed up, and 271 for the sprint. That water temp could be really cold, though, especially if the ten day forecast is accurate. It’s not going to be that warm.
I’m in, it’s my first HIM of the year. Anybody want to pre-ride the bike course on 05/07/2005 at 8:00 AM?

this looks like fun. let me know how you guys feel about the race course, director etc. - i might pencil it in on my 2006 racing calendar along with a trip home to visit the parents.
