I’ll be there. Wondering if you will too? Does anyone know what the water temp might be like? Thanks.
You’re on your own this year, I’m on the injured reserve list. Expect the water to be too hot for wetsuits.
The athlete guide says the water should be 68-70, but I’m just not buying that considering it’s been between 90 and 100 every day for the last month.
Last year it was so hot that I was overheating without the wetsuit.
Emailed Neil S about it a few weeks agao and he indicated wetsuits should be allowed as the pond (Ok, it’s a small lake) wter usually is about the same as the ambient temperatur. With all of the newbies and TnT’ers he has in his events, I cannot see him running an event without allowing wetsuits…And just as I say that he’ll nto allowed them at Diamondman in three weeks.

I did Diamondman last year and I don’t remember it being a close call, though I could be wrong, so you should be ok. I’m using this race as open water in my wetsuit practice for IMFL, so I am hoping we can use them.
Doh- Read the title and thought it said is anyone doing Lompoc this weekend. Freudian slip I guess.
Don’t count on this being a wetsuit swim. It wasn’t last year and was not as warm as this year has been. It’s a very small lake. Be prepared for a messy transition area and a run on grass, road and dirt path.
