Anyone been/going to Veloswap?

I’m thinking of going to Veloswap this weekend in Denver. Was wondering what experiences others may have had there. I keep hearing of people getting incredible deals on bike equipment. Any advice? Any bad experiences with buying something only to find out later the hub is shot or the bottom bracket is cracked? Let me know!!

I am going but it will be my first time. I attended the small swap this past spring but have heard the fall swap is quadruple the size. Bring lots of cash and use caution. From what I understand is if you go to the private booths (non-corporate) it is typically a riding club or average people who have ended up with a lot of gear and don’t know what to do with it. You need to know what you are looking for before you get there and use caution - it is just like buying anything used.

veloswap is awesome…huge, and everything you could imagine. this will be my third year (second with a booth). first year i got a trek alpha 2000 road frame and carbon fork (brand new) $100. the last couple years i’ve just stocked up on clothes and stuff. my buddy scored a pair of the older spinergy 4 spoke? for $80 for the set. me and some buddy’s get a booth and get rid of old gear…one guy is a cat 1 racer. two other guys work at bike shops…we have have sold bike, ski, snowboard, camping, climbing gear…etc. there are also tons of teams and pro’s selling gear…every year i’ve been the deboom family has quite a booth! alot of bike shops set up too, if your looking for something new at a good price. i highly recomend making a list of stuff you want or need. otherwise you’ll forget or buy crap you don’t need. bring lots of cash (or as much as your willing to waste).
