does the bar stay that size far enough out to the side so you can clamp on the aerobar without those shiims?
I hate those shims.
I’m thinking about the profile airwing.
specifically can I use the air stryke bars without the shims on that base bar?
I have the Profile Airwing OS (31.8 clamp) and if I understand your question correctly then the answer is yes. The stem is obviously oversized and the portion of the basebar that is 31.8 extends out to the sides far enough that the aerobar is also 31.8. So no shims.
Is that what you were asking? I am actually looking to go with a flat Vision bar but am not sure if I should stick with the OS stuff or go to a smaller diameter.

that’s exactly what I was asking yes thanks…
Just double-checked for you…
The Profile Airwing OS has a 31.8 diameter for about 5" (13cm) in the middle. That gives you 2.5" on either side of centerline so depending on how much your stem will take up you will have plenty to use an oversized aerobar. It tapers down VERY quickly and as long as you don’t have your aerobars SUPER wide you will be good.
Just measured it with ye old ruler and calipers.
Glad I could be of assistance on here (for a change).
