Anybody try 72 hour taper?

I started late for my wildflower long course training so don’t want to taper long. I’m thinking of the crash taper. Plan:

Monday: Train for 2 hours - maybe 30 min S - 1 hour bike - 30 min run. With about 10 minutes half IM pace in each sport - continuous tempo like effort yet at half IM pace (or a touch above)…

Tues/Wed/Thurs - 100% off. Rest.

Friday: Swim 15, bike 30 - run 15. maybe some short 1-2 minuutes race pace stuff with long recovery.

Sarurday: race…

I was thinking of either doing nothing T/W/R or some really light stuff - like 20 min swims/30 min bike/20 min runs +/- some accels if I feel good but keep it very minimal.

Opinions?

Um, your Friday schedule refers to minutes and not miles, right? Or are you actually on crack?

Taking three days off doesn’t sound like a good idea to me. I probably wouldn’t be able to sleep the second night unless I were burned out from heavy training. Better to swim or ride a bit just to burn off some energy.
