Good Night Tokyo!

LOL…good one!

It’s a clever word jumble for “Lance Armstrong”!

I have done it!!

Looks like he got his money’s worth in the final 13…

That is pretty darn funny.

More recent results show him DQed, not sure what the story is.

I was DQ’ed for 3 days at the Turtleman-my bike time was so out of line with my slow run and swim time, they guessed I passed the 2nd small bike loop. I emailed them a bunch of similar results and they corrected. A 4 13 should be suspicious, but would explain the marathon time–ouch.

Check the pics from Ironmanlive - there is a photo of the guy. I was wondering when I saw him out running in the top 5 overall AG’ers…

From Ironmanlive, Ironman NZ:

Age Grouper, Eulorge Melane took the third fastest bike time and Stephen Sheldrake and Austria’s Daniel Niederreiter filled the top five.

Here’s the top 50 times for comparison., followed by the top four women, where Jo Lawn emerged in the latter stages of the race to lead Monica Caplan.

…this guy looks like Andre Dawson’s twin brother !

The only opportunity to cut the IMC bike course is the out and back section near Keremeos - about 20k. Assuming dude missed this 20k, he’d have still clocked a sub 5 ride. The only other place where you could conceivably cut the course would be at OK Falls - if one were to omit the turn to the south, maybe have a coffee and a nap, and jump back on the course on the main highway (in other words, only ride around Skaha Lake).

That, or a slimmed down version of the guy that played “Son” on “Sanford and Son”…

he also has a 4h44 in Canada 04…
a 4h43 in 2002 in Canada again
a 5h09 in Canada 2001.

I don’t buy the 4h13…

Does sound like the guy is a stud on the bike…but breaking Hellreigel’s record by 15 minutes seems like a bit much. Were there timing mats on the out and back to Keremeos? And was he wondering where the heck his bike special needs bag was?

he raced IMC in 95, 2001, 2002, 2004…so I guess he must know the course by now…

So what is the verdict? Did this guy ride this fast? If so, the news writers should re-write the sections stating Chris Lieto broke the cycle record.

if he went 4:13, our man at Team Disco, Johan Bruyneel, needs to open up a spot in the 2006 TdF roster so that the man can power the front of the train for the TTT.

Dev

no he didn’t.
he didn’t do the whole course. period.

It says DQ on the results…I think the race officials are on to him. I don’t buy it. The “Lance Armstrong” thing is a riot.
