Anybody have the new Polar bike computer

Looks interesting, wonder how well the wireless speed works?

Could it finally be, a bike computer that actaully works? I suffered through their worthless 510 and am waiting patiently for one that will work. Will wait patiently for the reviews for sure. Cateye has one out for about the same price, wonder how that one is working. My 510 had hard to read, hard to retrieve numbers and the heart rate would always read way high. This must have been interference as it only happened when I needed it most during competition. Usually their stuff is pretty good though.

I have had two Polar HRMs, both with cycling functions, and they worked perfectly. The latest, the S625X, works as advertised and I have not had any problems with it. I would imagine that a dedicated cycling computer would work at least as well.

I have their 710 HRM with cycling functions and it works fine, even set up for rear wheel pickup. Assuming this uses the same pickup sensors, I imagine it would perform the same. The only complaint I have is that when you enable the cycling functions, it disables the audible HR zone alarm - which just sucks. I’m used to setting my zones and ‘riding to the beeps’. I can’t do that with the Polar, which to me greatly devalues it’s effectiveness. Hopefully they’ve corrected that on this model.

The Polar bike computer doesn’t use the same cadence and speed sensors as the S-series watches. (Check the Polar.fi website.) Not sure why they don’t keep them common, I would buy the bike computer as an alternative & backup to wearing the watch.
