Alcohol recommendations also got a big change. For decades, the government told people to cut themselves off after one or two drinks a day. Not anymore. The new guidelines are looser, telling Americans to “limit alcohol beverages” without suggesting a specific cap. “Alcohol is a social lubricant that brings people together,” the head of Medicare and Medicaid, Mehmet Oz, said. He added, “Don’t have it for breakfast.”

Didn’t celebrate New Year’s Eve because we were driving up north to ski. I had a beer with dinner on the 1st after a long day on the slopes.
And I’m getting over a cold right now. I had a hot toddy last night to help weather the fever.
Other than that, been dry and plan to remain so for the rest of the month.

There are some legitimately good NA beers out there now. I’ve found the craft hazy PA or IPA varieties to generally be the best tasting/most convincing. Guinness zero is also surprisingly good.

i’m a big fan of Guinness NA (feels like you’re drinking something instead of yeasty water) and Erdinger’s NA Weissbier. Also had a NA Moretti the other night that was surprisingly good – more lagery than ale-y if that makes sense.
Am also a fan of NA sparkling fizz with a shot of NA Crodino. A very passable take on Aperol Spritz.
I also like NA cider, which is different from plain old pressed cider. It was alcohol once and still carries a hint.
