Anybody done the Nice Triathlon?

Do you guys have any experience from the Nice Triathlon. This year’s event is on September 26th.

I would be interested to hear tips and feedback.

One of the best races I have ever done I would highly recommend it Tom. Tough swim, 4km in roughish water. Best bike course out of any I have done, lots of climbing, fast hairpin descents. I would recommend checking the bike course out before the race. Run is flat and a bit boring along the coast, not sure if the run course is the same now, it was one lap when I did it. You are the bike expert, but I personally would recommend using a road bike with clip ons and STI shifters. I would not want to be descending on a tri bike out there. Would be treacherous in the rain, friend of mine went over a cliff and ended up getting flown to a London hospital.

I think I aqm going to use either my Look KX light, a Cervelo R2.5 or a Cannondale Six 13 with shorty aerobars and compact cranks.

Total cost of hotel and flight from Expedia.com: $1140.09 for 7 days on the French Riviera. $50 helicopter ride over to Monaco to play baccarat with James Bond.

I’m there.

Tom, you got to do it that is a classic that every triathlete should have in their palmares. Sadly, I had pencilled it in for 2006 after Lanzarote and Penticton next year, but of course this year is the last year that it will be run in its classic shape before going IM. I will do it in that format but it will not be the same.

Two questions for you, do you have FSA Carbon Aero brakes in stock or can you get them for my Kaliber build?

Also I have found THE Starbucks branch for you! Whilst dropping my GF at Gatwick airport to fly back to Vancouver, I stopped for a Frappachino, and heard the guy behind the counter (Bar-whatyoucallthem guy) ask if the customer wanted their Cafe Latte small, medium or large! Come to England land of the English Language!

Todle-pip, Old Chap.

i’ve been to Nice four times. my favorite trip of all the foreign races. i’d do it, it’s the last time around for this classic race before it becomes a McIronman.

I booked my flight, hotel and entered on line.

Barring an “Austria Syndrome” (where the store is too busy and the employees too disgruntled for me to leave) I will be there.
