My wife and I just bought our first home, and now for the first time ever we have a whole room dedicated to fitness. I have my bike trainer set up in there at the moment and am loving it.
The walls are all blah right now, and I was thinking it’d be a good idea to somehow display our old racing bibs. Has anyone done anything like this for decoration? If so, how’d you do it and how did it turn out (pictures would be cool if you had them)? I am looking for some creative display ideas beyond simply mounting them on poster board. And ideally it’d be something I could do myself at minimal expense.
If anyone has any suggestions, please pass them along.
I have all mine as the top border around one of my rooms i think there is over 50 now. I should be onto the second row by this year. I hang all my tri and hockey stuff in there. I have some of the finisher towels up and random hockey pictures. I need to get my jerseys framed but its expensive.
not the same, but my mom sewed a bunch of my favourite old race t-shirts into a quilt. a really cool idea, and practical, since i’m never going to need or wear 100-odd cotton t-shirts with ridiculous logos all over them.
In our fitness room we have our old race bibs from shorter races covering the insides of the doors. The Marathon and IM numbers are mounted on the walls along with posters and framed pictures from the races. We have all our race hardware on a large mantel. Our race medals are on curtain rods in the windows as curtains (looks pretty cool). Provides a nice level of motivation while working out.
