I’m a pe teacher from Puerto Rico, I wanted to see if I got any partners in da house.
So where do you teach?
At what level?
How long?
I want to establish some references for future help as a resource etc.
Thanks,
Emmanuel

Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology & Phys Ed … and in grad school for mathematics right now.
WOW,
I just apply for my first job as a teacher in the US. wondered if you could answer some questions regarding curriculum for the high school grades.
Do you have any work experience? are you teaching right now?
The curriculum in the USA seems to be WAY bigger and complex than ours here in PR.
I wonder, Do you know basic skills for EVERY sport in the curriculum? I saw things like “badminton”, “dance” and other outdoor activities I am not familiar with.
Do you have any recommendations on what I should focus on on my prep work?
Do you have any references that have helped you out in the past?
Thanks…

Teaching - but college calculus
I went right from undergrad to grad school, so I’ve never worked as a phys ed teacher.
Unfortunately I don’t have any references or materials for you. The only thing I can think of is trying to work as a substitute teacher, or volunteering/working with some local Rec / YMCA programs/teams in various sports. They usually need coaches and you get some experience with kids and sport. Even an after-school program at a Y or a local community center would probably include a fitness component.
