Any opinions on the Cateye CD300DW?

I’m looking at getting one of these and I’m interested to know if any ST’s have one already and what they think of it.

From pictures sensor looks like it might interfere with pedalling is that ridiculous?

Is the interface pretty intuitive? Do you think it’s a good purchase?

Any thoughts would be great.

Try searching this forum with CD300DW, brings up a couple of extensive threads on the Cateye CD300DW.

Great set up - does not interfere with pedal action - loved mine
.

Someone saw then for 99 bucks somewhere–search the forun. I have one. I’m very happy. Might get another for my other bike.

I personally love mine, he sensor and magnets are a nice fit on my bike, but two things you will need to fix.

First, use 1/4 inch ty-raps to mount the sensor, you can get those tight enough with a pair of pliers so the sensor does not move around.

Second, use some loc-tite on the screw that mounts the computer to the mount, otherwise you will be going back to pick up your destroyed computer.

okay, you guys who love yours…how do you get the thing to zero out each ride? Both my friend and i have had terrible problems with this; it stopped resetting the way it is supposed to (ie. per the instruction booklet) after about a dozen trips. I’ve just decided to do mental math, but it’s a pain in the rear! (but a bigger pain to go through the hassle of getting another one…)

It’s got a warranty–call Cateye. Mine still resets fine when I hold down both top buttons and then press the one in the middle.

Well I have not had that resetting problem, but it is touchy. You are talking about the start/mode1 reset right. It is a momentary press, if you hold one down first it does not reset. I am sure you know that since it worked for a while, so the next option is a warranty deal I guess. Interesting thing about computer stuff is it may reset for someone else:)

Resetting–you press and release the three buttons (as you know). THere is a tendency from using other computers to press and HOLD the three buttons. Don’t do that–press and RELEASE. You probably know that, though, but it is a little weird at first.

I have one and have no problems with the rear sensor but I do have trouble reading the display. The display is too dark for my liking. With sunglasses on, I have trouble reading the display unless the sun is shining directly on it.

The display is too dark for my liking.
I’ll join in that.
