That said, the more you go toward oats, and real granola the better you probably are.
Not sure what “real granola” is, but I am curious where the idea came from that granola is healthy; it is generally the most energy-dense and among the least healthy of cold cereals. It has twice the kcals and just as much (if not more) sugar per serving than most other cereals. You could certainly make it with good ingredients, but it is still very energy dense, and the boxed stuff is garbage.
I LOVE cereal.
I’ve been making the Granola in the Feed Zone cookbook and eating it as cold cereal. It is calorie dense - but I find that the 3/4 cup serving size actually is filling enough that I’m not going for the second (and third) bowl.
