Any experience with Specialized TriTip saddle?

I’m currently on a Fizik Arione Tri 2, but I’m having major numb-nuts issues. I’ve always ridden Specialized road saddles and was wondering if the tri saddle was worth a flip?

Skip the Tri saddle and try a Toupe or Phenom.

Find a Toupe in the ST Classifieds.

“Let’s play a game called just the tip”. LOL!
=)

i’ve been on mine about a year and really like it.

then again, i was on the arione tri prior to it and liked that as well.

Best tri saddle I’ve ever used. I do know a number of people who like the phenom as well. Thinking about trying it, but can’t justify the change when I’ve had such success so far.

Was anyone experiencing numbness? Also, I think I have my saddle a angled too far down in the front, would that cause more numbness? I have tried to raise it to a neutral/flat position, but I have a 2008 C’dale slice and it is next to impossible to get the angle right on it. I know it sounds elementary, but until you’ve tried their seat clamp, you can’t appreciate it’s difficulty.

I was using the arione tri before as well as a selle san marco and had numbness issues with both. Angle of the saddle has a huge effect on pressure. With the tritip, dead level seems to work best, with others you may want to try just very slightly angled up.

I ride a toupe on my road bikes and have tried the selle italia slr gel, spec. toupe, fizik arione and the spec. tri tip as triathlon saddles. I was in the process of demoing several saddles (my local tri shop has a demo plan) and tried the ISM Adamo and it was problem solved. After 15-20 miles I would always get numb nuts with the other saddles I tried, but with this saddle the boys hang comfortably off of the front with plenty of supprt for my sit bones. This saddle may not be for everyone but it is very much worth a try to solve the numb nuts canundrum.

I’ve had a Specialized Tri Tip on my Orbea Ora for the past six months and love it. No numbnuts or any other pain whatsoever. I am 5’11" 195lbs though so I probably have some extra natural cushioning down there anyway - not sure if it would be different for a skinny guy.
