I am curious if there is any correlation between tri bike and road bike saddle heights? I ride ~78 degrees on my tri and ~74 degrees on my road bike. Both were “professionally” fit at different shops and are at different heights…which has peaked my interest. Thanks in advance.
That’s interesting. I had my road and tri bike fit and he put saddles at the same height. Hopefully, someone has feedback on this.
My road bike saddle is slightly higher then my tri-bike… It’s what works for me to allow me to run “better” off the tri-bike… and that’s all that matters to me.
I have spent money on fits… however, I’m not a big fan of someone else dictating what position I ride in… I’m the best judge of the position “I” should be in.
Beat me to it.
If you want to be proficient in both triathlon and road riding, your positions should be similar. The reason component manufacturers make cranks in 2.5mm differences for example 170.0, 172.5, etc. is because if you change more than 2.5 mm in your pedal stroke it can take up to 3 weeks to retain the same efficiency as before.
So, jumping from one bike to another is totally detrimental.
