Anti slip paste not working?

I’ve got a CF frame and a CF seatpost. When I was fitted, they had to use a lot of anti slip paste to get it to stay put, and when I was out of the saddle and rocking the frame, I hit the nose of the saddle and it rotated.

Any suggestions for ways to get the seatpost to not move around?

Women’s hair spray. Seriously - it works. Just use a lot of it.

I’ve got the same issue with a carbon basebar and aerobars. The hairspray sounds like a great idea…Thanks to the poster!

Heh. Working on it. Down 3 lbs in the last 2 weeks, 8 more to go. (Hrm…special workout for Jot tonight…)

But hey, maybe if I lose 10 lbs my CdA will go down.

Cut up a tube and put a layer around the post.
For my brake levers, I tried tightening nearly to failure, roughing with sand paper and even epoxy. Nothing worked till I tried the rubber.

I had the same issue. Carbon compound, scuffing with sand paper, nothing worked. The seat post would rock back and forth and slide down bit by bit. Eventually I bought some tin and cut a small shim and used that to stabalize the seat post. Worked like a charm and I haven’t had any problems since, but it is a pretty fugly kludge.

John, what about a nice Slice or Blue frameset, we havent had any slipping issues with those

If you are set with your seat height bring the bike in and we could try cleaning it up and using some contact cement, that seems to work well on the stubborn slipping seatposts. You could also consider a different seatpost, if its slightly undersized and the seat tube is slightly oversized that can make things slip.

Yeah, I’ll probably swing by the shop on a ride thursday or something.
