Rode my new conti tubies last week. Flatted the rear when a staple went through—made it home before flat, thanks. So I want to change my valve extenders to the Tufo or Vittoria so I can actually get the Tufo sealant I bought in. Here are the questions—1) Is it possible to get the valve core out of the tubie with a tweezer (insert other small tool) so I don’t have to unseal glue job? 2) If i do have to unseat the glue job to get the core out can I only do a quarter of the tire and then re-glue that portion, or must it be a complete reglue of the entire tire? I come from tape, glue is kind of a pain-- Thanks
You already got a hole from the staple can you use a syringe to put it in through that hole? Also I know most times you don’t want to go through the valve, but you can try, if it doesn’t work take off the tire and clean it out then do it right.

IMO both of your ideas have problems. In attempting the first you might actually twist the entire valve stem resulting in damage and a worse leak at the valve stem tube boot. I think you would have to remove the entire tire from the rim to install the valve extenders and get them back through the hole in the rim. Styrell’s ideas I think are worth trying. I’d go with the syringe first.
If you end up having to remove the tire I’d replace it with a Vittoria CX (or equivalent) which would roll better. (![]()
