A Danish newspaper is reporting that a jersey holder tested positive after Stage 14, when Contador edged Rasmussen, and that Christian Prudhomme will announce the result in a press conference at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Your jerseys at that point were Rasmussen, Contador (white), Soler (polka-dot), and Boonen (green).
if it’s anyone other then Rasmussen they should stop the race and send everyone home. However if it is him this might explain why Rabo was so quick to get rid of him…
keep in mind that if they cancel most pro sports where the vast majority of athletes dope, then we’ll be stick with even more crap on TV…that would open a good 30hrs a week on channels like NBC, and besides Versus which will be showing trout fishing, or poem reading depending on how Versus/es is spelt, all other sport channels are gone.
Funny. I read this in Leprovence.com and then went to l’equipe to confirm and when it wasn’t on l’equipe I figured it wasn’t true and didn’t post about it.
If indeed it is Solar, then it is just what I said earlier in another thread. Here is a guy that had little to no chance of being tested, but he went out on a crazy attack, and against all odds won a race. Now he is in the very tiny testing pool. If you were to test the entire peleton, the positives would make your head spin…Too bad, I liked his agressive riding style, but not suprised anymore about anything…
But here is the issue, Soler wasn’t technically the polka dot jersey that day, he was simply wearing it as the #2 in the classification as Ras had the yellow. If it was him, it must’ve been a random test.
